The trust boundary
EvidenceVault never holds your master key.
The force controls the keys, the audit trail, and the retention policy. EvidenceVault operates the platform but has no path to decrypt your evidence — even under legal compulsion. Break-glass requires force quorum.
Force-held keys
Customer-managed Key Vault HSM. Master keys never leave the force tenant. Operator can observe but not decrypt.
Hash-chained ledger
Every action notarised to Azure Confidential Ledger. Records cannot be altered or deleted — only appended.
Retention engine
Offence drives retention period. Sensitive categories require power-user confirmation, not auto-destruct.
